Course description

This course is an intermediate-level workshop module which is intended to support the successful implementation of MOECC’s forthcoming Stormwater Guidance Document. It is also intended to help designers, contractors, municipalities and other groups striving to successfully meet associated volume control, water quality and related requirements. Join Bill Trenouth and Kyle Vander Linden for this full day workshop which focuses on the proper processes and procedures required to take LID projects from final design all the way through to implementation and routine operation by highlighting critical steps and ‘lessons learned’ during the tender/contract, construction, certification, and operations phases.

This course is recommended for Designers, contractors, municipalities and other groups striving to successfully meet associated volume control, water quality and related requirements.

Learning Objectives:

1. Understand the roles and responsibilities of the LID construction team members, as well as key considerations from mass grading through to final assumption.
2. Know the common methods for constructing LID practices and specifying their materials.
3. Be aware of common LID construction pitfalls and how to avoid them while effectively stabilizing and establishing vegetated stormwater management practices.
