Toronto and Region Conservation Stormwater Management Criteria

SWM Criteria PagePicThe Stormwater Management Criteria provides guidance in the planning and design of stormwater management infrastructure for developers, consultants, municipalities, and landowners, and outlines the processes and infrastructure needed to address flooding, water quality, erosion, water balance, and natural heritage.  It was developed based on the principle that the establishment of appropriate, effective, and sustainable SWM practices requires a solid understanding of the form, function, and interrelation of the water resources and natural heritage systems

The Criteria document was prepared by the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, in partnership with the Credit Valley Conservation Authority, and with the direction and input of the Sustainable Technologies Evaluation Program, The Municipal Infrastructure Group Ltd., Aquafor Beech Ltd., and Geomorphic Solutions.  Funding was generously provided by the Region of Peel, the City of Toronto, and the Region of York.
